Update: My Ultrasound Mammotome experience

I'm sorry if I failed to update some of you...

Here's what happened-- hindi po natuloy ang medical procedure ko nung December 8, 2009, 2pm sa Medical City.

At sa totoo lang, para na akong sirang plaka kasi ilang beses ko na ito naikwento sa mga tao sa office at sa iba sa church. Hehe. Pero oks lang, tandang-tanda ko naman kasi kung ano nangyari. So here goes...

Nakasalang na ako sa operating room/bed...
- The Surgeon/Doctor told me that I will be given local anesthesia. Ang ikinagulat ko nung sinabi nya na kada bukol tuturukan nya (ouch!) and I guess isa yun sa nagpakaba sa akin.
- First shot of anesthesia: I remember the doctor told me calmly-- "Okay this will sting ha." And it did, pero natiis ko naman. So after the shot, I tried to stay calm. The anesthesia will make me numb naman anyway!
- And now, the time has come for my surgeon to cut me in the area where she will have to place the thing (heck, di ko alam kung ano tawag dun! LOL) na mag-va-vacuum nung bukol na tatanggalin...

I will undergo ultrasound mammotome breast biopsy (see more info below) next week, December 8, 2009 around 2pm.

Do pray for me and with me.

How a Breast Biopsy using the Mammotome® System Works

Here's what you or someone you care about can expect when undergoing a breast biopsy using the MRI, x-ray, or ultrasound Mammotome® System:

Preparation for the procedure
1. Patient positioning depends on the imaging method that is used. Under ultrasound imaging, a doctor will obtain images of the breast tissue while the patient lies on her back. In stereotactic (x-ray) procedures, the patients lie facedown on a special table. The woman's breast protrudes through a hole in the table's surface, where it is lightly compressed and immobilized while a computer produces detailed images of the abnormality. In the case of MRI imaging, the patient lies face down on a breast coil, and the coil is moved inside a magnet for a computer to acquire images.

2. The patient is given a local anesthetic (injection) to minimize any discomfort.
Biopsy Procedure with the Mammotome® System

3. Once the area to be biopsied has been located and mapped, the Mammotome® probe is inserted through a small ¼-inch incision in the breast.

4. When the probe is positioned at the area of concern, it gently vacuums, cuts and removes tissue samples for examination. The samples are passed through the hollow chamber of the probe into a collection chamber. Because the Mammotome® probe is directional, multiple specimens can be collected without having to remove and reinsert the device.




5. To continue to monitor your breast health following a breast biopsy using the Mammotome® system, the doctor may place a small stainless steel marker or a collagen plug with an embedded titanium marker to identify the biopsy site. While this tiny marker is undetectable to the patient, it enables a physician to keep track of an abnormality in future mammograms.

6. The Mammotome® probe is removed after the samples have been collected, and the single incision is closed with a small adhesive bandage.

Built To Last

It was really a privilege to be a part of it- Built To Last Discipleship Conference - Nov 13-14, 2009.

I was so blessed and was really ministered to in a super-duper personal way...

Right now, I am just still in awe kung paano ginamit ng Panginoon si Rev. Edmund Chan (including the workshop facilitators: Dra. Yoyit Roldan and Rev. BJ Sebastian and the the Praise and Worship time) to speak to me in a manner wherein HIS message was really resounding! I was empowered, awakened, rebuked, encouraged, affirmed and challenged!

The next step for me is the doing what was told... To obey His instruction!

Stability...

This is just very timely... Since may mga IMPORTANT and CRITICAL na mga bagay-bagay ang ni-re-reveal sa akin ang Panginoon these past few weeks (or past month?)...

Uhmm, saka ko na ishe-share ang mga detalye. Eto muna---


"Stability is the mark of a mature Christian"

God has given us peace so that we can be stable even in the midst of hard times. In John 14:27, Jesus says, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives."

In this verse, Jesus tells us that He has left us his peace. Jesus' peace, however, isn't like the world's peace, which depends on your circumstances; rather, God's peace is internal. God's peace allows believers to be stable even in the midst of hard circumstances, difficult trials, and uncertain times.

It's no wonder Paul said that he could be content, i.e. stable, in all circumstances: "I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want." (Philippians 4:11-12). What was Paul's "secret"? "I can do everything through him who gives me strength" (Philippians 4:13).

The key to contentment and stability is living in, through, and with God in everything. Like Paul, a mature Christian is able to remain content and stable in all circumstances.

Jonah's Displeasure Rebuked

1But it greatly displeased Jonah and he became angry.

Trials and Temptations

I have mentioned before that our Growth/Bible study group (Connect Agents' of Change or C.A.C.) is going through a series study on the Letter of James. I lead the group in studying verses 2-4 last September 5, 2009 and verses 13-18 last October 17... And I have been telling them that I am experiencing trials and temptations myself (well, lahat naman tayo diba?) and I am having a tough time. Sobrang first hand application sa mga lesson namin ang pinagdadaanan ko. But He remains faithful, nakikita ko ang work Nya and He really is up to something... that I know for sure.

Heart Breaking Weekend

ONDOY: Rains were constantly pouring down all night. As all the waters were pouring down into nearby creeks, canals and rivers, the banks started swelling up, spilling back all that water onto the surrounding areas. Hard hit were Marikina, Cainta, and areas of Pasig, then the areas of Makati, Mandaluyong, Manila and Quezon City. Just a few hours into the afternoon, the rest of the city was submerged in water.

 15And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. (Psalm 50:15, King James Version)

Let us continue praying for everybody, lalo na sa mga nasalanta ng bagyong Ondoy (Ketsana).

At kahit ano pa man ang mangyari, let us remember that the Lord remains sovereign!

Status

I'm discerning God's will.

I have to make a decision on two things on or before Sunday (September 20, 2009). These are things that is evidently for the Lord (I know that for sure). I could have said YES right away but then I know in my heart I need to pray about it, seek God's will, search my heart and all that...

All I want is that I will do His will for me and for the ministry for His greater glory.

And so I say to Him:

Send forth your light and your truth, let them guide me; let them bring me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell. -Psalm 43:3

I am the worst person I know

(napakalalim na buntung-hininga muna...)

I am the worst person I know, kasi alam ko sa sarili kung ano ang mga desire ko na hindi pleasing sa Kanya, at nahihiya talaga ako. Sigh. Minsan nasasabi ko na lang na "Lord, uwi na lang ako dyan para matigil na ang mga sablay ko..." Pero sino ba ako para bigyan ng instructions si God? His ways are not my ways, and so His plans!

(Sigh ulet)

I am struggling and in pain pero God is able to uplift my spirit sa pamamagitan ng Word Nya, praise Him for that! And so I want to share my devo for the past few days...


Allow me to quote this, from Experiencing God Devotional by Blackaby:

"Sin breaks our relationship with God; it severs relationship with others as well. Broken relationships are the epidemic of our day. Sin alienates family members, separate friends, divide churches, and destroys marriages. sin creates mistrust, jealousy, hatred, and greed, all of which devastate relationships...

Only Christ has the remedy for the disastrous effect of sin on human relationships
..."

God lead me to read the following passages:

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. -1 Corinthians 10:13

Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. -Isaiah 59:1-2

(I think i have not mentioned here that I have been reading and studying the Book of Psalms since July)

I also read Psalms 37:12-40. These are the verses that I took note of (as in kinopya ko sa aking journal):

23 If the LORD delights in a man's way,
he makes his steps firm;

24 though he stumble, he will not fall,
for the LORD upholds him with his hand.

Grabe ang Psalm, I am having so much of "taking refuge in Him" and I am loving it! Madalas din na nakikita ko rin ang sarili ko at sitwasyon ko sa mga sinulat ni King David and I really feel God is closely and personally speaking to me... Praise Him for that!

The Greatest Love of All


"This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins."' -1 John 4:10

Even prior to attending the Singles' Conference and more so after the event-- I have been pondering a lot about being consumed with the wonderful truth that: JESUS LOVES ME!

Allow me to share to you some of my random and personal notes on Love Matters: More Than Just Romance singles' conference retreat...

- Love is more than just romance, it is indeed a command.

- Commandment is a directive; it was given by God for the good of His people

- For God to be your god, you must be close to Him.
- How much is being asked from me? The answer is: all my heart, soul and mind. Or in other words, ALL OF ME!
- The world tells us to love ourselves but the Bible tells us to die to ourselves.
- It is in knowing God that we can get to obey Him and enjoy it!
- Jesus prayed and so should we.

- Joshua 1:8
- When Atty Marc asked few people what "success" is, I worte this: It is when I am doing or have done what God wants me to do. It is being at the center of His will.
- We all have different definition of "success".
- Love is the secret to prosperity and success.
Love and anger are extremes of the "same" feelings.

- Lack of trust is when: you want to do it all. It shows that you don't trust the people you are working with.
- There is a difference between denial and overlooking: You are in denial when you cover the conflict/sin. You are overlooking when; there is conflict/sin and yet you choose to forgive.
- As much as possible, live at peace with everyone.
- Romans 5:8
- A life that is not lived with love is a life that you will not love to live.
- When it is hard to love, be patient! Be patient with God, with yourself and with others.
- There is love and stability in a life that is so secure in God.
- Be consumed with God's love!

Most of these thoughts I have shared to my Buzz Group members (see our picture below) and also with my Connect family and because nga I want to be just consumed with His love, I am sharing all of these now.

Grabe, I can't help but be amazed... Jesus loves me this much:

And so as a commitment, by His grace, I will:

"Love the Lord my God with all my heart and with all my soul and with all my mind and with my strength... And love my neighbor as myself."
