God loves a cheerful giver :)

How is the attitude of your heart when you give to the needy?

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
-2 Corinthians 9:7

Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?
-James 2:15-16

I believe these verses are timely especially now that our kababayan down south are recovering from the aftermath of typhoon Sendong...

Here are few ways how we can help:

crying out loud

Just thinking and crying out loud:

Sana dumating din yung araw na pag may problema tayo harapin natin at wag nating takasan. At wag na tayong magpalusot at mag-justify but rather admit our mistake(s), repent, forgive, ask forgiveness, move one and heal...

Tama na. Sobra na. Nakakasawa na. Napakasakit na...

"If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives." -1 John 1:8-10

"My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me..." -John 17:20-23

+ Pray with me and for me. Thank you. +

samting 2 tink abawt

What's next na?

Kung wala pa, allow me to share this song by Noel Cabangon:

Ako’y isang mabuting Pilipino
Minamahal ko ang Bayan ko
Tinutupad ko ang aking mga tungkunin
Sinusunod ko ang kanyang mga alituntunin

Tumatawid ako sa tamang tawiran
Sumasakay ako sa tamang sakayan
Pumipila at hindi nakikipag-unahan
At ‘di ako pasiga-siga sa lansangan.

Bumababa at nagsasakay ako sa tamang sakayan
‘di nakahambalang parang walang pakiaalam.
Pinagbibigyan kong mga tumatawid sa kalsada
Humihinto ako kapag ang ilaw ay pula.

‘Pagkat ako’y isang mabuting Pilipino
Minamahal ko ang bayan ko
Tinutupad ko ang aking mga tungkulin
Sinusunod ko ang kanyang mga alituntunin

‘Di ako nagongotong o nagbibigay ng lagay
Ticket lamang ang tinatangap kung binigigay
At ‘di nagtatago sa ilalim ng puno.

‘Di ako nagkakalat nga basura sa lansangan.
‘di bumubuga nga usok ang aking sasakyan
Inaayos kong mga kalat sa basurahan
Inaalagan ko ang aking kapaligiran

‘Pagkat ako’y isang mabuting Pilipino
Minamahal ko ang bayan ko
Tinutupad ko ang aking mga tungkulin
Sinusunod ko ang kanyang mga alituntunin

Lagi akong nakikinig sa aking mga magulang
Kaya’t pag-aaral ay aking pinagbubutihan
‘di ako gumagamit nga bawal na gamut.
O kaya’y tumatambay at sa eskwela’y di pumapasok.

Pingtatangol ko ang aking karangalan
‘pagkat ito lamang ang tangi kong kayamanan
‘di ko binabenta ang aking kinabukasan
Ang boto ko’y aking pinahahalagahan.

‘Pagkat ako’y isang mabuting Pilipino
Minamahal ko ang bayan ko
Inutupad ko ang aking mga tungkulin
Sinusunod ko ang kanyang mga alituntunin

Ako isang tapat at totoong lingkod ng bayan
Pabor o lagay ay ‘di ko pinapayagan
Tapat ang serbisyo ko sa mamamayaan
Di ko binubulsa ang pera ng Bayan

Pigantatangol ko ang mamamayang Pilipino
Mga karapatan nila’y kinikilala ko
Ginagalang ko ang aking kapwa tao
Pinaglalaban Kong Dangal ng bayan ko.

’Pagkat ako’y isang mabuting Pilipino
Minamahal ko ang bayan ko
Tinutupad ko ang aking mga tungkulin
Sinusunod ko ang kanyang mga alituntunin.

Ako’y isang mabuting Pilipino
Minamahal ko ang bayan ko
Tinutupad ko ang aking mga tungkulin
Sinusunod ko ang kanyang mga alituntunin
Pagkat ako’y ilang mabuting Pilipino

Panatang makabayan
Iniibig ko ang Pilipinas
Ito ang lupang sinilangan
Ito ang tahanan ng aking lahi
Ako’y tkanyang kinukopkop
At tinutulungan upang maging malakas
Maligaya, at kapakipakinabang

And to add, a good read and related article by a friend Mariah Gadapan:

"...but what is our most important role in this new government?"

Bukod sa sinabi nang song, I like and agree with what Mariah shared in her blog.

Mabuhay ang sambayanang Pilipino! God bless the Philippines!

Upuan

I've been hearing this song over the past months pero kaninang umaga ko lang talaga pinakinggan yung sinasabi ng artist. And it's interesting... Halos one decade ba naman syang nakaupo eh. Hehe. =D

Anyway, gusto ko lang naman i-share...

Gloc-9 - Upuan lyrics

(Chant)

Kayo po na naka upo,
Subukan nyo namang tumayo
At baka matanaw, at baka matanaw na nyo
Ang tunay na kalagayan ko

Ganito kasi yan eh...

Verse 1:

Chorus:

Kayo po na naka upo,
Subukan nyo namang tumayo,
At baka matanaw, at baka matanaw na nyo
Ang tunay na kalagayan ko

Verse 2:

Kaya...

Wag kang masyadong halata
Bato-bato sa langit
Ang matamaa'y wag magalit
O bato-bato bato sa langit
Ang matamaan ay
Wag masyadong halata
Wag kang masyadong halata
Hehey, (Wag kang masyadong halata)
(Wag kang masyadong halata)

(Chant)

Focus, focus!

This happened to me, yesterday... Uhm, or shall I say-- it happens often:

"Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!". -Matthew 14:29-30

I let myself be distracted and irritated... As in, inaalis ko kasi talaga ang focus ko kay God kaya sumasablay ang attitude ko towards things...

.Sigh.

At ni hindi ako nakalapit sa Kanya sa kahihiyan ko (meaning di ako nakapag-devo kahapon because my heart was not right before Him) pero napaka-faithful pa rin Nya and reminded me of this before He allowed me to sleep:

"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." -Matthew 6:33

At nag-contemplate lang ako sa words Nya na yun on my way to work. While singing this in my head (and playing it in my mp3):
In Christ alone my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song;
this Cornerstone, this solid Ground,
firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
when fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My Comforter, my All in All,
here in the love of Christ I stand...

And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me,
For I am His and He is mine -
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me;
From life's first cry to final breath.
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand...

Tumingin at nag-focus kasi ako sa earthly things at kaya nag-worry ako... na-neglect ko tuloy Sya... Kaya pagdating ko kagabi sa office, before I start working, I looked it up in biblegateway.com for a better/bigger picture of what He is trying to tell me...

25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

28"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
-Matthew 6:25-34

So there, thank You, Lord!

And I'm so sorry for looking away... ='(

Thank You for saving me from drowning.

interesting conversation

I had an interesting conversation yesterday morning with a relative. I believe it was one of God's answer to my prayer (not about my previous post though) about a personal and sensitive issue...

Thank You Lord, truly You are amazing God! You are the Lord who answers prayer... Thank You for another divine appointment!

To you dearest,

I now know better.
I now have a clearer idea why are you like who you are right now.
I now can say that I know where you are coming from.

I wish we could really talk about things.
I wish you'd be honest to yourself and to all of us.
I wish you'd give time to spend time to listen, and I mean listen.

...It will come, I know, in His time!
I love you and I miss you.
;-)

I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.

-Psalm 27:13-14

...pray with me please!

I've been feeling this way since the start of March. And I've been asking the Lord to help me na makabawi pa ako... Things for me are still unclear.

So, do help me in praying, nagsasawa na (ata) ako sa ginagawa ko sa work...(?)

Is it time to leave Lord? Is it time to transfer? Or is this just another opportunity for me to be STILL and KNOW that YOU are God...? Help me be more sensitive in Your leading...

In His name, I pray, amen...

.Sigh.

tsk, tsk, tsk

Hindi talaga lahat ng "development" ay nakakabuti. Nakakalungkot.

"THE government was warned 32 years ago that ceding control of urban development may have adverse consequences, such as the devastation experienced by the metropolis on Saturday..."

Click here to read the article. Thanks to Kuya Lester Ordan who shared this in our egroup.

Let's continue praying na makaahon na lahat ng nasalanta ni Ondoy and pray na sana mas maging handa na tayo since may paparating na namang bagyo (Pepeng).

Heart Breaking Weekend

ONDOY: Rains were constantly pouring down all night. As all the waters were pouring down into nearby creeks, canals and rivers, the banks started swelling up, spilling back all that water onto the surrounding areas. Hard hit were Marikina, Cainta, and areas of Pasig, then the areas of Makati, Mandaluyong, Manila and Quezon City. Just a few hours into the afternoon, the rest of the city was submerged in water.

15And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. (Psalm 50:15, King James Version)

Let us continue praying for everybody, lalo na sa mga nasalanta ng bagyong Ondoy (Ketsana).

At kahit ano pa man ang mangyari, let us remember that the Lord remains sovereign!

Nagtatampo (daw)

Haaaayyy... Ayun lang, nagkakalungkot lang... Hindi naman ako galit...
